Terms and Conditions
These terms govern access to Ascend, including the study workspace, notes tools, quizzes, uploads, and paid subscriptions.
Last updated: April 9, 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account, accessing Ascend, or using any part of the service, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. What Ascend provides
Ascend is an AI-assisted study platform that helps users review lessons, summarize material, generate quizzes, and work with uploaded academic content. Ascend is intended for educational support and learning assistance.
3. Eligibility and account responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that happens under it. You agree to provide accurate information when creating or maintaining your account.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Ascend to:
- violate laws or regulations
- upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing material
- abuse, disrupt, or interfere with the service
- attempt to bypass plan limits, security, or billing systems
- use the service for cheating, fraud, or academic misconduct
5. AI-generated content
Ascend uses AI systems that may produce incomplete, incorrect, or outdated answers. Responses are provided for study support only and should be reviewed carefully, especially before relying on them for assignments, high-stakes decisions, or formal submissions.
6. User content and uploads
You retain ownership of the material you upload or submit to Ascend. You grant Ascend the limited rights necessary to store, process, and display that content in order to operate the service.
You represent that you have the right to upload and use any content you submit, including notes, screenshots, documents, and images.
7. Plans, billing, and subscriptions
Ascend may offer Free, Plus, and Pro plans. Paid plans renew automatically unless canceled before the next billing period. Features and usage limits may vary by plan and may be updated over time.
Payments, billing, tax handling, and subscription management may be processed through third-party billing providers.
8. Cancellations and refunds
Subscription cancellations stop future renewals but do not automatically create refunds for charges already processed, except where required by law or where a separate refund policy says otherwise.
9. Service changes and availability
Ascend may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, permanent storage, or error-free operation.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to Ascend if these terms are violated, if misuse is detected, or if doing so is necessary to protect the platform, other users, or legal compliance.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
Ascend is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ascend and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or educational outcomes arising from use of the service.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Ascend after updated terms take effect means you accept the revised terms.
